Molars and Pre-Molars
With the head collar on gently introduce the brush into the corner of the
mouth (between the outside of the teeth and the cheek) your horses first
reaction is to chew,as they do this it enables you to push the brush further
up and using backwards and forwards movements clean the outside of the
teeth.
Do not let your horse chew on this as it may damage it.
Incisors
Here you can use both hands one to hold either the top lip up or bottom
lip down and using the other hand brush up and down until you’re
satisfied all remnants are removed.
Use only clean water on the brush, do not use your own toothpaste
as this may be harmful to your horse.
Remember patience is the key and over time this will become a rewarding
and enjoyable experience for both you and your horse. |
